The Winter Pattern Challenge by Mélanie Johnsson was the first art challenge I had ever participated in. For those unfamiliar, social media art challenges are usually set to a theme or daily prompts and can be participated in by anyone willing to join in. Mélanie had 28 prompts - one for each day of the month of February.

To create 28 patterns is a task not to be taken lightly. Depending on the complexity, each pattern can take a few hours or more from start to finish. Nevertheless, her prompts piqued my interest. I put together a color palette and got started on my motifs. The patterns featured below are a few of my favorites from this challenge.
