wildflowers and weeds

Collecting pressed flowers has been a hobby of mine ever since I took Intro to Botany in college. It ignited the desire in me to identify and preserve the flora I walk past every day in New York City. Although many of my pressed flowers may be considered weeds, I have always found the beauty in them.

Creating this neutral palette with pops of bright pinks and oranges set the tone for this collection. I’ve highlighted the silhouettes of White Snakeroot, British Yellowhead, Largeleaf Linden leaves, and what I’ve concluded to be Elm seeds.
